Educational goals

The Master's degree course in "Business administration and law", in compliance with the educational objectives of the class of reference, is designed to provide professionals with a high degree of specialisation when dealing with the processes of planning, collection, checking and transmission to third parties of information on business trends and results, being able to interpret changes to local markets and national and international scenarios, considering the cost-effectiveness and sustainability of the company, and endowed with cognitive tools for the continuous growth of acquired knowledge. Graduates in 'Business administration and law' will be able to use digital methodologies for planning, measuring and evaluating business and management performance in the public and private sectors, and to act in the areas of governance and strategic control in terms of ethical matters and economic, social and environmental sustainability. This Master's degree course offers educational paths enabling students to acquire the economic, business, legal and quantitative analysis skills required for the specialised professions of accountancy, quality assurance, statutory auditing, governance and control of public and private companies, internal auditing and tax judiciary. In addition to subject-specific skills, transversal skills will also be learned, such as team working, critical thinking, public speaking, development of corporate content using digital communication tools. Specific learning areas into which the course is divided are as follows. - Business area: the course subjects in this area provide the necessary technical skills for drafting business plans, internal control, performance evaluation, financial analysis, business risk management, corporate reorganisation, drafting of consolidated financial statements, sustainability reporting. - Economic area: course subjects in this area offer tools for interpreting socio-economic and political scenarios necessary for corporate governance and control in consideration of sustainable development goals. - Statistics-mathematics area: this area provides teaching on quantitative methodologies for the valuation (price formation) of the principal financial instruments, as well as business survival probability in the light of business risk estimates. - Legal area: course subjects in this area are fundamental for acquiring the regulatory knowledge required to set up companies, obtaining stock exchange listings, choosing business contracts, organising the company from a tax point of view, also in the event of litigation, and restructuring companies in crisis. The course is divided into four semesters. The first two are comprised of compulsory course subjects in the areas of business, mathematics and finance, law and economics, designed to build an interdisciplinary methodology at a specialist level. The third and fourth semesters offer students the opportunity to complete the course of study choosing from a list of main subjects and a list of related, supplementary subjects, and the opportunity to carry out, as part of the student's elective activities, an internship at PwC as per the Agreement between the Master's degree course and the aforementioned company, or an internship at another public or private company or professional firm, with the possibility, in the latter case, of having a 6-month deduction from the 18 months required to be admitted to the section A Register of Certified Accountants and Accounting Experts. The course concludes with a final examination, consisting of the discussion of a thesis.

Admission requirements

For admission to the Master’s degree course, students must hold a bachelor’s degree (which may be a bachelor’s degree obtained according to the regulations in force prior to Ministerial Decree 509/1999), or a three-year university diploma, or another qualification obtained abroad, recognised as suitable by the competent bodies of the University. To enrol on the course English language knowledge of level B2 or better according to the European classification is required. The meeting of curricular requirements and an adequate initial preparation are also needed for admission. Curricular requirements: - at least 18 CFUs in one or more of the following SSDs: SECS-P/07 and SECS-P/08; - at least 12 CFUs in one or more of the following SSDs: SECS- P/01, SECS-P/02, SECS-P/03 e SECS-P/06; - at least 12 CFUs in one or more of the following SSDs: SECS- S/01 and SECS-S/06; - at least 12 CFUs in one or more of the following SSDs: IUS/01, IUS/04 and IUS/09; - at least 3 CFUs in the computer science area; as specified in the study course's Academic regulations. The latter also sets out the procedures for verifying the adequacy of the student's initial preparation.
