Double Degree Agreements
Double degree, multiple degree, or joint degree agreements allow for the structuring of common study paths with other universities, providing for forms of curriculum integration, structured student mobility schemes, and mutual recognition of educational activities.
Double and multiple degrees are based on the existence of affinities between the study plans of the degree programs of the different involved universities; joint degrees, on the other hand, require shared planning of the educational path and therefore a jointly designed academic program between the universities.
The awarding of double or multiple degrees means that at the end of the program, the student will obtain, in addition to the degree from their home university, also the academic degrees from the other participating universities where they have acquired the required credits, or according to the terms set by the agreement. Therefore, in the case of a double or multiple degree, the student will receive two or more diplomas.
