
The Degree Program in Childhood Neuro and Psycomotricity aims to train graduates who, within a multidisciplinary project, can:
- Perform prevention, therapy, and rehabilitation interventions for child neuropsychiatric disorders in the areas of neuropsycomotor skills, neuropsychology, and developmental psychopathology, using specific techniques tailored to age groups and individual stages of development
- Identify and develop, within a multiprofessional team, the prevention, therapy, and rehabilitation program aimed at meeting the health needs of children with developmental disabilities • Implement procedures aimed at the inclusion of individuals with neuropsychomotor and cognitive disabilities and handicaps
- Collaborate with school staff for the implementation of prevention, functional diagnosis, and the dynamic-functional profile of the individualized educational plan.

Educational goals
The specific objectives of the degree course in developmental neuropsychomotor therapy are as follows: carry out therapeutic treatment for developmental neuropsychomotor, psychomotor and neuropsychological conditions through the use of specific techniques according to age group and individual development stage; - collaborate in the functional rehabilitation of all acute and chronic childhood pathologies; carry out assessment of motory, perceptive, emotional and cognitive functions and their interactions, for each neurological, neuropsychological and psychopathological condition related to the age of development; - identify and elaborate, within a multidisciplinary team, the programme for prevention, therapy and rehabilitation of the child with a developmental disability, by means of the most appropriate therapies available; - carry out therapeutic and rehabilitative treatment of perceptive-motory conditions, including where necessary the use of an orthosis or aid, neurocognitive conditions and conditions regarding symbolisation and interaction, from as early as the first weeks of life; - assess the response to treatment, adjusting it accordingly; - establish and maintain appropriate relationships with the child, their family and social environment applying the principles of relationship dynamics; carry out procedures aimed at treatment and integration within the family, school and social environment of children suffering from neuropsychomotory and cognitve conditions and personality disorders; identify and respect the role and tasks of the profession and also those of other healthcare professionals in order to establish a collaborative working environment; study, teaching and research – undertake specific applied and professional consultancy within healthcare services and in situations where professional expertise is required; act in a manner which is coherent with the disciplinary, ethical and deontologic principles of the role of a developmental neuro psychomotor therapist. Such objectives are achieved through theoretical and practical training which also comprises the acquisition of behavioural skills in order to guarantee, on conclusion of the course, full command of all the necessary skills and their immediate application to the working environment. Particular importance, as an integral and qualifying part of professional training, is given to practical experience and clinical training under the supervision and guidance of assigned clinical tutors and co-ordinated by the most highly qualified teaching staff.

Developmental neuropsychomotor therapy graduates can find employment within public and private healthcare institutions offering rehabilitation services for children affected by neuropsychic disorders , for example university or hospital departments of infantile neuropsychiatry, mother and child services and/or local rehabilitation centres, rehabilitation centres operating within the National Health Service.
Admission requirements
To be admitted to the bachelor's degree program, students must hold a high school diploma, as required by current regulations, or another foreign qualification recognized as suitable. Admission to the bachelor's degree program is subject to national access planning (Law No. 264 of August 2, 1999). Admission is through a competitive exam; the date and methods of conducting such exam are determined annually by the Ministry of Education, University, and Research and published in a specific notice issued by the University. Students admitted to the bachelor's degree program with a grade below a predetermined minimum threshold may be assigned specific additional training obligations; the procedures for recovering any educational deficits, to be completed within the first year of the program, are governed by the Didactic Regulations of the bachelor's degree program.
