Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE)
The ECHE (Erasmus Charter for Higher Education) is a significant recognition awarded by the EACEA (Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency) to institutions following a thorough selection and evaluation of activities carried out under the Lifelong Learning Programme over the past seven years, based on submitted applications.
By obtaining the ECHE, our University is eligible to participate in all Erasmus+ program actions, including mobility and cooperation. The ECHE is valid for a seven-year period.
The University of Pavia has renewed its Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) for the 2021–2027 cycle, achieving a score of 100/100. The ECHE acts as the “quality certification” required to participate in all actions of the Erasmus+ program, including student, faculty, and staff mobility; international projects; European campuses; excellence master’s programs; Jean Monnet initiatives; and more. It is granted after a careful evaluation of the University’s Erasmus Policy Statement (EPS), its internationalization strategy, and the measures taken to ensure compliance with Erasmus’s core principles and support the program’s priorities, such as active citizenship, digitalization, and environmental sustainability.
The previous Erasmus Charter obtained was the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education 2014–20. The full text is available in the attachment below.
