Overseas Exchange Programme

The Overseas Exchange Program allows students to spend a semester studying abroad as part of bilateral agreements with universities around the world.

You can participate if:

  • You are regularly enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or single-cycle degree program.
  • You have a good knowledge of the language of the host country (or the language in which the courses are taught).
  • You are not receiving, for the same study period, a grant provided by other programs or actions funded by the European Commission.

During the study period, you can attend courses, take exams, and, at some institutions, conduct research in preparation for your thesis.
Upon your return, the activities carried out abroad will be recognized by the University of Pavia.
A scholarship is provided to support mobility expenses.

The University of Pavia has agreements with Universities in Canada, Australia, Japan, and many others.

You can select up to 3 available destinations based on your field of study, year of enrollment, and mobility semester. You will be assigned to one of your choices.

The call is published in January and allows for a mobility period of one semester only.

For some destinations, you can choose whether to depart in the first or second semester.

You can participate by submitting your application through the dedicated form. Follow the instructions provided on the how to participate page.

What to do after being assigned to a host institution?

The mobility consists of three phases, each with specific requirements.

Check the necessary steps depending on your current phase:

  • Before departure;
  • During mobility;
  • After returning;

Completing all required procedures in each phase ensures the proper execution of the program and facilitates the recognition of academic activities.
